Sessional Playgroup Childcare in Manchester

There are 25 private and voluntary playgroups across the City of Manchester offering sessional childcare.

Manchester playgroups run in many different premises, church halls, community centres, detached houses and school classrooms, but all offer a play session of not more than four hours for an average fee of £3.50 per session. Some groups are registered with the Manchester Early Years Team to receive funding for the three and four year old children in their care. These groups plan and deliver the Foundation Curriculum and the Birth to Three Framework.

All groups offer the opportunity for parents/carers to become involved in the setting, either as a volunteer helper, fund raiser, or member of the management committee. There are lots of opportunities for formal and informal training for all those involved in playgroups and it is here that many careers in Early Years begin. If you are looking for care for your 2 to 5 year old, where they can experience well-structured planned play activities appropriate to their age and stage of development, there will be a playgroup near you, why not pay them a visit and find out more about it?
